MOUTH PUPPET FOR VERBATIM

For my film Verbatim I built a fully armatured stop motion puppet of a mouth.

Starting with an aluminum wire frame I sculpted epoxy putty teeth onto the wire. I carved the teeth down to give them a more angular and believable shape and then painted them. I glued foam around the base wire and wrapped it in thin foam gauze to start building the gums. To add another level of believability i then coated the gums in liquid latex and paint to make it a more believable color. Every tooth in the puppet is individually articulated.
